Christian Worldview of History

As a Christian Historian, it is extremely important for one to have a Christian Worldview of History. This allows us to remember why we were placed on this earth as well as keeping things in perspective. God has always been in control in the past as well as in the future.

A Christian Worldview of History, is the realization that God has and always will be above the events that take place here on this earth. This means that God is always in control no matter the situation. As a historian this means simply being mindful of the events that take place here on earth and coming to a point that we can except what takes place here on earth without fear of what is to come.

Being a Christian Historian does not mean that we have to interpret every event in history and try to determine what God is doing. We also don't always have to include God in everything we study. A Christian Worldview of History is simply an idea we can always have in the back of our minds. I think a Christian Worldview allows us to better understand history and study without fear of what is to become of this world. In a way, we can rest easy and remember God is in control. As Dr. Sam Smith says, we are to search for the truth without bias towards secular interests or a bias towards Godly matters. We are simply supposed to give the truth as a historian.
